Welcome! I’m so glad you have invited me along with you on your journey to a new career! Over the next twelve weeks or so, I offer guidance, advice, a gentle nudge, and unlimited support. You bring an eagerness to learn more about yourself and a willingness to take important, possibly uncomfortable, steps. Together, we get results fast.
This page is your “home base” for the materials and resources that structure Six Weeks to a New Career. Everything we will use in our exploration is available to you here. There are also some additional resources that you might find helpful in the future.
Six Hours to a New Career
Session One: We identify your skills, talents, and interests. You’ll complete the Tilt Personality Assessment, and together we review the results. With this insight, we then use other tools to create a list of your strengths.
Session Two: I will teach you to narrate your offer in a compelling, interesting way. Essentially, you learn to communicate how you can solve specific problems that your next employer needs solving.
Session Three: Together we create a list of employers, organizations, industries, and people who work in areas you find intriguing or interesting. I’ll share the power of LinkedIn, and we will identify key contacts for you to meet.
Session Four: Getting your LinkedIn page in tip-top shape is the priority. We also work together to create a master resume.
Session Five: You’re ready to network! We map out your unique networking style so that you can start making connections with confidence. We explore how to ask great questions, get useful advice, set up meetings, and begin to engage in useful conversations with possible employers and organizations.
Session Six: We prepare you to interview for your new career. We’ll craft answers to common questions, including using role plays to practice delivery, and through these exercises you will gain clarity about how you want to show up. Cover letter and resume.
Six Hours To A New Career includes a Tilt Personality Assessment ($49), relevant articles from Harvard Business Review, and other resources.
