What permissions do you need to give yourself in order to have the career you want? Too often clients have deep-rooted assumptions about self-promotion or seeking help that has limited their career options.
How can you build and access your network? Palena points out that networks offer more than job leads. A strong network will provide important feedback, emotional support, and inside information.
What do you need to learn? If learning isn’t one of the reasons you’re looking to advance your career, don’t bother with the three earlier questions. Learning, sometimes on a steep curve is one of the biggest gifts of a new position. And fortunately, the thrill of mastering something new, the acceptance of failure, and the challenge of incorporating new skills into ongoing work are essential for the pursuit of the next big job.
